is a plain French oil-and-vinegar dressing persuasively
spiced to bring out the delicious flavor of any salad. It
comes in an attractive apothecary jar to use on the table.
It's the personal recipe of an ingenious young matron, who
at the insistence of her friends has packaged it for all

"55"
French Dressing
1 garlic clove
1 tbsp. Coleman's dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. sugar
2 oz. cider, wine, or balsamic vinegar
3 oz. olive oil
Peel
and split garlic several times down the middle - leave base
intact. Add dry ingredients to garlic first, then vinegar,
and finally oil. Mix well.
You may add your favorite herbs such as dill, tarragon,
curry powder, celery seeds, or chili sauce according to
preference.
