Parade of Charades

Bryan Knox shares his annual holiday tradition of attending the Hollywood Christmas Parade.

"The bands are great (my favorite part of any parade), lots of horses, and minor celebrities riding in old cars and floats.

My spot is in front of the Frolic Room where the usual group of spectators alternate between proclaiming undying affection and uttering scornful jeers."

Sidelong to the Pantages Theatre, The Frolic Room is where an ancient flame-haired B-movie actress complimented my Miss Topper red velvet cape whilst touching up our faces in the powder room. Circa 1940s, the cloak was originally grandmother Bow Ross', a New Yorker and for a brief moment in time, stage actress for Mr. Lee Shubert on the Great White Way. — KMH
